A rubber flap check valve, also known as a rubber flap non-return valve or flexible check valve, is an automatic valve that uses rubber as a sealing element. It relies entirely on the flow of the medium itself to open and close. Its primary function is to prevent backflow of the medium in the pipeline, thereby protecting equipment such as pumps and compressors from water hammer damage.
